Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to support CLUES marketing and communications efforts by creating engaging visual and written content for various channels. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer, designer and communicator who is fluent in Spanish and English, capable of thriving and adapting in a fast-paced and dynamic organization and committed to CLUES mission.

Department: Administration
Supervisor: Marketing and Communications Manager
Location: CLUES St. Paul, MN Office. Most work will be completed remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Schedule: Part-Time. M-F. Regularly office hours, some evenings and weekends required. 
Salary/Pay: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES    

Will vary based on current need. General responsibilities may include:


Marketing and Communication

  • Drafting content for internal and external publications and assisting with distribution.
  • Performing basic website updates.
  • Maintaining an active, relevant presence on CLUES social media networks.
  • Taking, editing and archiving photographs of CLUES programs and events.
  • Filming or editing video content.
  • Publicizing upcoming events and programs.
  • Weekly measures and campaign results.
  • Assist Marketing staff with day-to-day projects as directed.

Design

  • Designing and editing visual communication pieces for print, such as brochures, fliers, postcards, signage and other program and event materials.
  • Creating content for publication online, such as website banners and graphics for social media.
  • Ensuring compliance to CLUES brand standards and key messages.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education, Experience & Key Abilities*

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field required. 
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with communications, design or nonprofits required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish are required.
  • Experience with email marketing systems, websites and/or professional social media management and skilled in creating and executing digital content.
  • Graphic design and video editing skills are a plus.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
       * Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.  


Language Skills 

  • Effective communication in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing, required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written materials, including reports, contracts, and proposals.  
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and information in an organized and effective manner, including writing reports. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and respond appropriately to questions from clients, co-workers, management and external parties.  

Computer Skills 

  • Proficient working knowledge of email software, the Internet, databases, and common Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.  
  • Must be willing to attend training to advance technical skills and maintain appropriate skill levels to perform job duties. 


WORKING CONDITIONS

Background check

  • Must pass a criminal background check. As a condition of continued employment, staff person may be required to submit to periodic re-verification of these background checks.

Physical Demands

  • Generally presents standard office environment.  Must be able to use telephone and computer on a regular basis.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
