Job Description

CLUES offers a wide range of behavioral health and human services to Latino and diverse communities in Minnesota. In 2010, CLUES provided services to over 12,000 clients and their families in our six core service areas: Mental Health Services, Chemical Health Services, Aging Well Services, Family Services, Economic Advancement Services, and Community Health Worker Services.  We employ a fully bilingual and multicultural staff in order to deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate services in a nurturing environment where clients and families can overcome some of life’s most challenging issues. 
 
POSITION SUMMARY
 
Department: Mental Health Services
 
Employment:  Regular full-time or part-time contract employment options may be available (open for discussion).
 
Summary: To provide effective leadership of the mental health services and service staff in areas including but not limited to quality, outcome-based design, service relevance, delivery, effectiveness, evaluation and all in congruency with mission.  To provide direct psychotherapy and psychological testing to Latino clients.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote the mission, operating values and agency services of CLUES within the community. 
  • Provide bilingual and culturally sensitive counseling and testing services to families, individuals, and groups.
  • Provide clinical oversight to unlicensed practitioners.
  • Assist in the delivery of contracts outcomes and relationships with contractor stakeholders.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Mental Health, set program goals and objectives, and plan strategies for meeting goals.
  • Coordinate data collection and program reporting.
  • Consult with other Mental Health staff, interns, and volunteers. Attend and facilitate case conferences sessions and other client staff meeting.
  • Cultivate working relationships with potential service collaborators and/or partners.
  • Provide consultations and presentations to other professionals and organizations.
  • Assist in the development of research projects that address the needs of bilingual/ bicultural clients.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of Mental Health.

 
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
 

  • Providing clinical oversight to practicum students and staff working towards licensure.

 
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
 
Education and/or Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Licensed (LP), and credentialed with all major insurance companies.
  • Two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) and cultural competency preferred.

 
Language Skills     

  • Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing, required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written materials, including reports, contracts, and proposals. 
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and information in and organized and effective manner, including writing reports.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and respond appropriately to questions from clients, co-workers and external parties.  

 
Transportation

  • Must have a motor vehicle for independent transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of automotive insurance.

 
Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 
Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 
Computer Skills

  • Proficient working knowledge of email software, the Internet, databases, and common Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. 
  • Must be willing to attend training to advance technical skills and maintain appropriate skill levels to perform job duties.

Physical Demands

  • Generally presents standard office environment.  Must be able to use telephone and computer on a regular basis.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.  Employee is regularly required to drive between multiple locations within metropolitan area.

 
Work Environment

  • Standard office environment with moderate noise level.
  • This position requires employee to drive between different client sites by motor vehicle.
