Responsibilities

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for activities associated with inventory planning and selection of replenishment methods to meet requirements of the KGP Logistics business plan. This position must meet the service level objectives of strategic customers while maintaining profitable company inventory levels and inventory turns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* The Planner is responsible for the optimization of KGP physical inventory assets utilizing automated planning software (Logility) in conjunction with the ERP system (Navision and/or D365). The challenge of this position is to increase inventory turn ratio while also meeting customer service levels.
* The Planner is responsible for analyzing and updating supplier lead times as well as working with suppliers to educate them on KGP's requirements for on time delivery. Utilizing several software and Access databases, the Planner will track and report agreed upon metrics to Management as well as the Supplier.
* The Planner is responsible for working in such databases as, Logility PRD Database, Microsoft Office, SSRS and CRM.
* The Planner is responsible for daily inventory reporting including explanations of increases and decreases.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Adhere to, promote, and accept responsibility for compliance to Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGP Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual.
* Participate in job site safety/hazard analysis.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Requires High School degree or equivalent. Minimum of seven years' work experience in Logistics, Marketing, or Sales. Must have the ability to communicate & negotiate effectively with suppliers. Must be detail-oriented and able to perform detailed data analysis. Must show high initiative and follow-through and be able to identify efficiency opportunities. Must possess sound decision-making, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and computer skills.

PROBLEM SOLVING:
The Planner is an integral part of a cross-functional business team who manages to a set of joint objectives including inventory turns, overstock, customer service levels, profitability, and EVA.


DECISION MAKING:
Inventory purchases up to $500,000 in compliance with KGP fiscal policy, supplier contracts, and business practices to support Operations and total company business plan.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the Company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract 10-digit numbers, to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
