Job Description

If you have passion for hardware design, innovation, and leading others, then we have a great opportunity for you with our Industrial Controls team! We're seeking an Engineering Supervisor to oversee all aspects of hardware design, lead a talented team, and collaborate internally and externally to deliver electrical systems design.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Engineering Supervisor include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manage a team of hardware controls engineers and CAD personnel, assign tasks, monitor progress, hire and onboard, conduct performance reviews, and provide development opportunities and coaching.
  • Oversee all aspects of the hardware controls engineering function, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures in the design, installation, and maintenance of hardware control systems.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with hardware controls engineering projects.
  • Facilitate the development and documentation of standard engineering processes.
  • Lead planning meetings to assign team members to projects.
  • Participate in the design, selection, and specification of hardware components for control systems.
  • Review and approve control system designs and schematics for functionality, safety, and compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with other engineering functions to ensure successful integration of hardware controls systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware control system problems.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the hardware controls engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers of hardware control components.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in hardware controls technology and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives.

Position Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware controls engineering.
Qualifications
  • Experience in the electrical controls industry in engineering, project management and/or engineering sales experience.
  • Ability to lead a team of over 10 individuals and work collaboratively with leaders and others within and outside the Industrial Controls group.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Team oriented and an effective communicator.
  • Ability to understand prints and build specifications and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and react to these appropriately.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google Suite applications.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel overnight and out of state.
