The purpose of this position is coordinate recruitment, training, supervision, and recognition of interns and volunteers for LSS Refugee Services programs.
The Volunteer Specialist Make presentations regarding Refugee Services to community groups of all types including congregations representing all faiths; the presentations will serve to educate people about Refugee Services programs and to recruit interns, volunteers, mentors and church co-sponsors. Will also contact local colleges and universities to solicit student interns & volunteers.
The successful candidate will also interview and screen interns and volunteers, including conducting background checks, develop outreach materials and manage Refugee Services on line and social media presence.
The Volunteer Facilitator will work with 60-100 volunteers and 10-20 interns each year in the Twin Cities metro area.
