Director, Total Rewards and HR Operations

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Director of Total Rewards and HR Operations to lead our efforts in optimizing employee Total Rewards while ensuring efficient HR Operations. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of total rewards strategies, HR operations, and the ability to balance long-range planning with near-term execution and helping create an unforgettable Employee Experience.

Location: Ability to come into our Mendota Heights, MN location as needed. Prefer local talent.

Total Rewards Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive total rewards strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
  • Oversee the administration of employee compensation, including base pay and incentives, ensuring fairness, equity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze market trends and benchmark data to make informed decisions regarding compensation and benefits offerings.

HR Operations Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for HR operations, including employee inquiries, HRIS management (e.g., Workday), and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline HR processes and enhance the employee experience.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR data and systems, implementing best practices for data management and security.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Team Management and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance, support, and resources to empower team members to excel in their roles and contribute to overall departmental success.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and identify opportunities for professional growth and development.


Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align total rewards and HR operations initiatives with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to executives, managers, and employees on matters related to compensation, benefits, and HR operations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in for total rewards programs and HR initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in total rewards, compensation, benefits, and/or HR operations; 8+ years of progressive HR experience strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership, strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and regulations, with demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, preferably Workday, and proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and HR technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and develop innovative solutions to address organizational challenges.
  • Proven track record of driving results, managing projects, and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
