Responsibilities

The Help Desk Technician will assist in developing and maintaining all systems, applications, security and network configurations. Responsible for installing new software releases, system upgrades, installing patches and resolving server and desktop related issues. Contributes to practices, procedures, and concepts related to Information Technology as it relates to the organization. Administers unclassified and classified systems. This is a
dual-role position supporting both the Classified and Unclassifed systems. Position most
closely aligns with DoD Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) Technical Support Specialist/System Administrator/Network Operations Specialist.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Develop and maintain systems, applications, and network configurations.
  • Install software releases, system upgrades, and patches; resolve server and desktop issues.
  • Administer both classified and unclassified systems, aligning with DoD Cyberspace Workforce
    Framework (DCWF) and DoDM 8140.
  • Maintain Information Assurance (IA) certifications such as Security+ CE.
  • Schedule and perform system maintenance, including patching and antivirus updates.
  • Deploy and configure IT equipment: desktops/laptops, printers, networking devices,
    telecommunication systems, and secure phones.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Windows and application issues; image systems; track computer
    assets.
  • Administer Active Directory and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
  • Implement security standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with customers on system upgrades and hardware consolidation.
  • Research technical solutions and collaborate with vendors.
  • Terminate, install, and patch network cabling.


Qualifications

Qualified Candidates Will Have:

  • 10 years' experience in systems/network administration.
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security
    methodologies
  • Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g. methods for assessing and mitigating risk)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles
  • Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities
  • Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses
  • Knowledge of cloud computing service models Software as Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a
    Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing deployment models in private, public, and hybrid environments
    and the difference between on-premises and off-premises environments
  • Knowledge of national and international laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to
    cybersecurity
  • CompTIA Security+ CE Certification (Legacy DoD 8570.01 "IAT II" required)
  • Strong Microsoft Windows expertise.
  • Proficiency in networking components and protocols.
  • Experience with copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Experience in a classified environment.
  • Patching and security hardening.
  • Knowledge of federal security mandates like RMF, FIPS, and NIST.
  • Understanding of DoD IT and cybersecurity requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field OR 4 more years experience in lieu of a degree.
  • CND, GICSP, CASP+ or CCNP-Security certifications

Clearance requirement: Top Secret with SCI (TS/SCI)
